Like the Disney movie, Wreck-It Ralph, in this world-building scenario, there are people who are bumped out of existence in a gene edit environment and returned to the timeline who are similar to Vanellope in that movie. Let us call them Vanellopes, and they are one of the big social justice interests of future women. There would probably be a whole bunch of court cases in relation to that in the 23rd Century that would probably called the Vanellope Court Cases on several different planets, where people try to figure out the issue of how to bring Vanellopes back into the timeline and the legalities involved. In this world-building scenario they are associated with British stream nations, basically those who speak English who are not American. American stream nations would be the Americans and any English-speakers who go to their stream of space nations. In this world-building scenario, there might be associations with the American stream two expansions later.
Judges would be divided into two camps:
‘if people are bumped out of existence as a consequence of gene edits, then the timeline must adapt and they must stay bumped out’
‘these people existed so they must be put back in the timeline’
This would also be an area of high interest for many nations in the deep future so they would all be paying attention to that as a large percentage of them would be Vanellope descendants and the earlier future would struggle to get their heads around that. Sequence time cops would be frequent visitors to these cases, as would the technology and other groupings from the deep future. They would be verifying things like whether victims are part of the timeline, whether a gene edit was done to them and whether they did a gene edit to others. They would also be going through whether there are Vanellopes in the situation involved and what bumped them out of the timeline, and typically the Vanellopes will already have been born and have had several generations, and the Vanellopes are actually several generations back in the 21st Century.
It would therefore be a process of documenting whether the family can be tracked to the original person who carried the Vanellope by going back one ancestor at a time and documenting that the bump out event should be cancelled out. The next process would be to ensure that the situation is kept together with a time travel cost sharing arrangement. There may be a need to fix the gene edit that caused the bump out event.
Vanellopes are typically called children of the timeline and there are several types of Vanellopes. Some are made by recombining the DNA from several ancestors back to the damaged individual and then comparing the DNA to make sure it is as close as possible minus the contamination to the DNA of the damaged embryo before making the embryo. Vanellopes are brought back into the timeline and are hidden under covering events such as IVF though they aren’t exactly one of the original IVF embryos but pretending to be.
Bump out events are associated with genes that have been contaminated from the future and there might be several different types of events that cause bump outs, such as poisoning genes associated with pregnancy or making an individual nonfunctional using genes to the point they cannot have children.
In this world-building scenario, there is also a weird relationship between British stream and American stream where the natural born descendants of many 21st Century people are in the British stream of space nations and the Vanellope descendants are in the American stream of space nations. It might also be a very great issue for the religious types of the 23rd Century in the British and American streams as they would not really be sure how they feel about being Vanellopes, but the problem would be that they would not exist without being Vanellopes. So it would create a weird acceptance interrelationship kind of issue between the 21st Century and the 23rd Century.
In this world-building scenario, Vanellopes are associated with the devil’s wife gene edit and the devil’s gene edit, which are gene edits associated with killing function so that babies cannot be born. The devil’s wife gene edit is considered anti-female in nature and the devil’s gene edit is considered anti-male in nature. There might be a lot of timeline technology that hunts the nations that use or spread the devil’s gene edit and the devil’s wife gene edit that is actually very scary.
In this world-building scenario, the devil’s wife gene edit might be seen earlier in the public sphere with groups that are unpopular in the 21st Century and the 22nd Century but there may be some unintended difficulty for the nation that is the source of the gene edit as they may have hit the wrong group with the gene edits. The intended target grouping may have eventually streamed into another stream of nations than the British stream and that stream will give them Vanellopes to clean their DNA of the devil’s wife gene edit.
There might be an ancestor of an important strategic asset to the deep future in the wrongly targeted group who is also a Vanellope. It might be necessary to move those British stream Vanellopes out of reach of the later politics in their nation of origin if it is extremely unfavorable as that politics might cause the gene edit to show its teeth early in the 21st Century. They might have to have Vanellopes to get the devil’s wife gene edit out of the children (with the children as Vanellopes). The devil’s wife gene edit then might be seen in the rest of the British stream in the 22nd Century. It might be necessary for them to have Vanellopes starting 2100. In this scenario, the year 2000 is the reference point. The devil’s wife is also a gene edit of major interest to the deep future and might be the only reason they are interested in the 22nd Century and earlier. It would probably because it is anti-female to the point women in the deep future are terrified of it. In this sector it is associated with British stream but it is seen in the other streams in the space sector.
In this world-building scenario, a strong overpowering instinct towards having a son or a strong overpowering instinct towards having a daughter could be a sign that a Vanellope of that gender is likely going to born to your family unit. It is also likely that Vanellopes and descendants of Vanellopes are exceedingly protective of each other and have enough political clout to do much. In this world of time travel, failing to finish a round of in-vitro fertilization is a risk for Vanellopes getting involved. When descendants of people from the past fail to help their ancestor with a destructive gene edit which is often for financial reasons, then they get turned into Vanellopes themselves as other Vanellopes will give the ancestor a son or daughter who will be their ancestor as a Vanellope who has clean DNA. Once that happens, they have to fight for the rights of Vanellopes though.
The gene edits in this world-building scenario target the Y chromosome, the very extreme ones target the nucleotides and the other less serious ones target the mitochondrial DNA. It could be possible to daughter out of the Y chromosome ones.
